Your final major project (before the exam) is going to be focused on Guerilla Art.
In your idea journal (on a blank gray 'quote page' in the back, in section E), record this definition. You will need to refer to it throughout this project...
GUERILLA ART is unauthorized, anonymous art that is created for (and installed in) public places, most often outdoors in urban areas.
It is EXTREMELY important to note that for the sake of our project, we are NOT going to create "illegal" artworks that damage property or damage the environment. Our project will be focused on guerilla artworks that either beautify the location in which they are installed, or change the way in which the public interacts with the space. Any student who creates a piece that is unsafe, damages property, is illegal or cannot be removed easily will not get credit in the course.
In order for you to gain a better understanding of the project, you will need to complete some research before we begin.
In your idea journal (on a blank gray 'quote page' in the back, in section E), complete the following tasks. I encourage you to both write your answers and do thumbnail sketching of some of the art pieces you have found, so that you are able to remember them better later. You will be sharing the information you found, as well as your question responses, with a small group, so make sure to keep all your research and planning work.
